Strature Advisory · Toronto

Advice for one organisation, under an engagement letter.

Geo-strategy, geo-business strategy and the three domains read together, for a company, an investor’s organisation or a board. Organisations only. Never a recommendation on a security.

Why an engagement

The world’s question and one organisation’s question are not the same question.

A shift in the world order reaches an organisation as a regulation, a trade measure, a sanction, a technology rule or a rival’s new footing. Which of these matter, and how much, depends on where the organisation earns its revenue, where it employs its people and what it depends on.

Strature Briefs answers the world’s question: a published series, the same text for every reader. Strature Advisory answers one organisation’s question: what a shifting order does to its position, its footprint and its options. The two lines share one method and do not share material; what an organisation gives Strature in confidence stays with that engagement and never enters the published series.

An engagement produces engagement deliverables, not a brief: dated, sourced, printed with their conflicts rather than smoothed over, and weighted by the organisation’s own footprint, down to the site where its own records allow.

What we cover, and how we deliver

Three ways of reading the same shifting order, and three forms the reading can take.

Capabilities 01 to 03 are what an engagement thinks about; 04 to 06 are how it is delivered, alone or together.

01Capability

Geo-strategy

Where an organisation stands as the order shifts, and what its options are.

02Capability

Geo-business strategy

Market entry, supply chains, partners and footprint, judged against the picture.

04Delivery

Exposure assessments

The regulations, measures, sanctions and policies found for an organisation where it operates, with places not read printed as gaps, re-issued as an edition.

05Delivery

Forecasts and scenarios

Dated, probabilistic calls on the events a decision turns on, each our estimate, scored when it resolves.

06Delivery

Briefings and presentations

In person or by video, to a board, a committee or a leadership team: on a published brief (presented as published, never applied to anyone’s holdings), an exposure edition or an engagement.

The engagement

Every engagement ends where it can be checked.

The question is fixed in writing before work starts; the deliverable is built to be re-read against events.

01 · THE QUESTION Fixed in writing before any work starts. 02 · THE EVIDENCE Sourced and dated. Conflicts printed, not resolved. 03 · THE DELIVERABLES Written options · a scenario set · a session in the room. Each option dated, with an owner named. 04 · WHAT WOULD CHANGE IT The signs to watch, re-read against events.
The four stages of an engagement. The last is drawn open because it is not finished at hand-over: it is the part the organisation keeps reading against events. The accent marks the dated options.
How we work

The terms every engagement shares.

The letter
An engagement letter fixes the question, the deliverables, the timing and the fee. Nothing starts before it is signed.
Who we work for
Organisations, for business purposes. Never individual consumers, foreign states, or organisations owned or controlled by a foreign state.
The fee
Agreed per engagement. No price list is published.
What we do not do
Strature does not recommend buying, selling or holding any security, and gives no investment, legal, tax or accounting advice. Where a question turns on any of these, the deliverable says so and names the kind of adviser who can answer it.
Confidence
Material an organisation provides is held for that engagement alone: never pooled, never used to improve anything shared, never in a Strature Brief.
The method
The same four rules as every Strature product. How the work is done.
